Okay we flew.... boring but quick. The best way to traverse the Great Plains is at 30,000 feet and going fast. Landed in Billings, Mt and rented a Subaru Outback(which Stephanie has fallen in love with), because this is a winter vacation and we wanted a AWD SUV for the snowy conditions...... 70 degrees here today LOL! We were able to get the same room here at the Yodeler Hotel that we stayed in the first time we were here that's cool. Rode up to Red Lodge Mountain Ski Resort for their annual Winter Festival that was going on today. This years theme was Star Wars and it was cool seeing skiers and employees dressed in their costumes. The festival ends with a large group of skiers coming down the mountain after dark with poles that have red flares burning on each end. Then when the reach the half way point the sky was lit up with a large fireworks show. Tried taking somee pictures but gave up and just enjoyed the show. Great day to start off our adventure.
Stephanie and Kevin's 1st BIG road trip since buying the Victory Touring bikes. Our goal is just going West. With 3 weeks to kill while taking only back roads and photographing along the way. Hoping to find some true Americana. Camping at parks or staying at old roadside motor inns where we can and dinning in mom and pop diners. The way many travelers before us saw America. Good Bye highway, so long Holiday Inn Express, and no more Cracker Barrels.... Hello America here we come!
Continuing Adventures
