End of Day #1 - Stephanie

Rain Man here, for those interested here are today's number:  We logged 365 miles (rounded up from 364.8) and spent 7 hours and 28 minutes and a few seconds on the motorcycles.  Highest temps that read on our bikes was 104 degrees.  We are now sitting in a 1940's mom and pop motel sucking up the AC.  I'm listening to Kevin mumbling about it only being 7 o'clock  (Translation - I'm exhausted and really want to go to bed, why couldn't it be later in the evening so I could justify going on to bed....).   LOL.  GREAT first day!

Matt and Karen McKinley joined us on Hwy 150 in Georgetown, IN and parted our company at the IN/IL line.  We continued Hwy 150, they turned South onto Hwy 1.  Thanks for the wonderful company you guys and for sending us off to a good start!  But before parting, we all ate at a family owned restaurant named Dogwood BBQ in Vincennes, IN.  YUM and HIGHLY recommended!

Kevin and I continued to follow Hwy 150.  He did break one of our Cardinal Rules and had a destination and time.  He surprised me by taking me to Henry's Rabbit Ranch in Staunton, IL on Old Route 66.  Rabbits!!!!  Cute and fuzzy adorable rabbits!  To greet us was a black and white bunny named "Guy" sitting on the counter.  He seemed to have enjoyed me holding and loving on him and yes, I walked out of there with rabbit hair all over.  The owner, Rich Henry, referred us to the Carlin Villa Motel, where we are now recapping our day.  And you can't beat this - King size bed no smoking room with couch, desk, big flat screen TV, and "Archie Bunker" chair.  All for a total of $58!

Looking forward to tomorrow and whatever adventures it may bring!
